Topic:   Mitsu HC7000 Temp Problem...HELP!!!

I'm hoping for some ideas here before I fork out a minimum of $700 for a repair. Upon plugging the power cord to the unit it IMMEDIATELY goes into a protection mode (power=steady red, status= 5 orange blinks). If I unscrew the lamp cover to trigger the lamp cover switch as open so it wont turn on and then turn the screw back in to re-activate the switch that the cover is closed the projector does a normal start up all the way to normal operation for about 30 seconds then “TEMPERATURE!” is flashed in the middle of the screen for about 5 seconds and while TEMPERATURE is flashing on the screen I get 2 rounds on the STATUS of 5 ORANGE blinks while the power is still solid green (because it is on), then it shuts back down into that protection mode like when I first hook up the power cord to it(power=steady red, status= 5 orange blinks). I completely opened up the projector and found no blockages & all fans to be spinning freely. I then called Mitsubishi Tech support got to level 2 about the problem and they insisted that its the main board not sensing the fans properly and wanted me to mail it in for a new main board to be installed which would run $670 for the board and about $120 for the install service. Well I figured i could install the board myself...afterall I just had the projector apart anyway and it would be an easy swap except MITSUBISHI TECH INSISTED the board would need programming so I would have to send it in. So I called the local AUTHORIZED dealer/repair shop and they said that in their service manual there was no such programming needed. So to conclude. Does anyone here feel there may be an easier fix or if there is a problem I may be over looking because I am gearing up towards ordering the main board this next week and installing it myself with fingers crosssed that it will NOT need programming like my local service shop claims. ANY HELP WOULD BE HUGE. THANKS

Topic:   Mitsubishi HC7000 Lamp

My lamp is getting weak and I was looking for the best way to replace the bulb. I see that the lamp by itself is available and was wondering if that is the way to go. If not where is the best place to get a new complete unit with the housing

Topic:   HDMI Distance

I have around a 40 foot run from my receiver to the projector. I was looking into an ethernet to HDMI booster and running two pairs of CAT 6 cable. Does anyone have a recommendation as to the best booster to buy? Thanks

Topic:   Best Cables to use for projector

I have about a 23 foot distance between my Arcam AVR600 and my projector. I want to get the best signal possible and was wondering what is the best type of cable to feed the video signal with. Cost is not an issue

Topic:   Projectot Placement

I am looking for help on setting up my projector. I am using a Stewart screen that is 96 wide by 54 inch tall. I believe for 1080P it is 16:9 image. I have plenty of depth in the room and distance from the screen in not a problem. The ceiling is vaulted where i will hang the unit and the distance is 38 inches from the ceiling to the top of the 54 inch height. If I read the install correctly it shows that the projector will only aim down 41 inches which is indicated by H1 on the diagram. Am I correct in thinking I need to be down from the ceiling 13 inches? Any help appreciated. Thanks
