The projector is connected with my pc via HDMI cable. On my pc display settings the maximum refresh rate allowed is only 60Hz. Is this normal? My videocard is ATI Radeon HD 4800 and my projector is Sanyo PLV-Z700 |

Hello,
I have recently bought a sanyo PLV 1080HD projector and i am very happy with it. I use it as a computer screen, connecting it with a 15ft., 1.3a gold plater HDMI cable from mycablemart.com to a HDMI-DVI adapter. Sometimes, however, i have a problem: i don't get a signal from my computer! Before, i had a dual monitor set up. I would have a regular monitor as a main monitor and i would "enable" the projector when i wanted to use it. But sometimes, after a restart, the computer would not recognize the projector as a monitor. I thought it was a video card issue, i have nvidia 8800 gts. So i updated the drivers. It didnt help. Then i got rid of the second monitor, using the projector as a primary AND only monitor. But it didnt help either. Currently, after i set it up, if i do not turn the computer off it works till the next restart. When i restart the computer, i get a logo, so i have to plug my regular monitor in, make sure it works. I unplug it and plug the projector in the same output, and unplug it and randomly keep trying to plug the projector in the 2 DVI outputs till, in 10-15 mins, it starts working. It is interesting to notice that sometimes it stops working even without a restart, like after standby, but never WHILE use, and the regular VGA monitor ALWAYS works when plugged in the projector output with a DVI adapter. This is tremendously frustrating! Also, x box never has this problem. Help Please! or refer to help. Thanks |

Still why there is no auto adjust option available? This movie was just an example, it cuts corners in every movie i play no matter what resolution and above all - the wallpaper on the backgrownd is allso cut. Is my problem related to this that i use DVI to RGB cable instead or DVI to HDMI cable? |

The input is computer (RGB analog). I set the resolution to 1920x1080. Im allso using a wallpaper with 1920x1080 resolution. OK so no matter what screen type i use, the wallpaper does not show in 16:9 (1920x1080) size! Manual states that:
"When the input signal is from computers, select Auto adj. and
press the arrow Point or OK buttons so that it automatically adjust Fine sync, Total dots, and Horizontal and Vertical positions to conform to your computer."
This option is not available as u can see in the picture i added. Why i can not use auto adjust if I AM using computer input?
The only screen option best so far is using the "natural wide" option. Is this the correct one i should use? Ok but the problem is that IT CUTS corners from wallpaper and movie! As shown in "before full screen" picture there is a 1080p resolution video not set to full screen yet. Take look at left and right corners of the movie. Now when i set the movie to full screen u notice that the green bush on the right has been cut off a little and allso the yellow wall/door on the left of Jim has been cut off a little!
I really do not want to miss out any details, please advice... |

Does anyone own this pj? I just got my popcorn hour and am having bother eliminating the judder. Ive played with the auto framerate sync option, and have even tried to manually select correct output settings for each file. Unfortunately the result is always imperfect.
I wouldnt even describe it as judder (like the wee jump you see when displaying it on a bog standard telly over composite) its almost like a soft strobe on panning shots. Watchable, but not perfect.
My understanding is that the sanyo can accept 60hz and 24 fps, so my auto framerate sync on the popcorn hour is set to ntsc/pal/24, with hdmi set to 1080p/60hz
So far the only files that play perfectly are 25fps. 23.976fps files give a watchable but imperfect display. And i have one 29.970fps file which just looks awful.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated! |
