Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply. Your tips worked out well for me.
Now i am able to control the power, aspect, brightness, contrast, sharpness, input, image mode, lamp mode etc...
Can you please help me out as to how i can adjust keystone,6 axis colour, focus and zoom in Canon XEED SX-80 projector through Rs-232? but the above mentioned function codes are not available. Can some one help me out with this?
Regards,
hss

for simple solution, you just need a software and a wire to control your projector.
the software main function is send out the ASCII code or Hex code.
for example this canon type projector's hex code is follow:
Communication Method:RS232c
speed: 19200 bps
Character Length: 8 bits
stop bit:2bits
parity: none
flow control:none
power on: 50h 4Fh 57h 45h 52h 20h 4Fh 4Eh 0Dh
power off: 50h 4Fh 57h 45h 52h 20h 4Fh 46h 46h 0Dh
AnalogPC1: 49h 4Eh 50h 55h 54h 3Dh 41h 2Dh 52h 47h 42h 31h 0Dh
video: 49h 4Eh 50h 55h 54h 3Dh 56h 49h 44h 45h 4Fh 0Dh
for normal use it's enough :)

Generally speaking, if a projector is designed to be controlled by a PC directly, then the manufacturer will release control software for the projector which you can get from them.
Otherwise, the serial port is most often used in third party control systems such as AMX, Crestron, Control 4, or others.
It is also used extensively by the manufacturer for maintenance, firmware loads, and other diagnostics which may not be possible when a projector is having 'issues'.
You can connect via a Telnet session but if you want to control the projector and have no other means, you are going to have to program it yourself.
I've also heard of a program called 'Girder' but I'm completely unfamiliar with the level of control and interactivity this offers.

The remotes are IR, not RF, so there is no frequency that can be changed.
Controlling the projectors by the serial ports is going to require additional hardware, as AVIntegrated suggested. If you use a computer for control, then you are going to have to create a switchable router. The computer commands go out into this router and you select which projector it controls through switches. This is the simplest way. The more complicated and expensive is to use a controller, such as a Crestron or AMX, and those have to be programmed.

Hi ,
thank you very much for your reply. Please note below I still have some issues, hoping I will get a solution from your end.
Now We are using Canon's SX- 80 projectors of 30 numbers for a typical application. We want to control the projectors individually with individual remote controller. We are finding it difficult , since the remote controller frequency is same for all the projectors.
We are looking for a solutions where we can control the projectors individually .
Is it possible , can we achive this by thro' serial port which is avilable in the projector. Can we do this by the following codes avilable ( http://www.usa.canon.com/app/pdf/projector/REALiS_SX80_Commands.pdf).
Is any external hardware is required or any protocals is required or can we change the frequency of the remote controller.
Looking forward your suggestion ASAP.
regards
