We currently have a 2000 lumens projector that just isn't cutting the mustard in our sanctuary that seats about 1200 with huge southfacing windows.
Right now, we project from the front and have a maximum throw distance of 18'. The current screen is 210" diagonal, and is really terrible. It's a screen we bought used and boy, does it show.
I'm currently looking at the EIKI LC-XB42N which has 4500 lumens.
So I'm pushing hard to replace the screen, but our viewing angle is pretty huge, about 75 degrees.
Rear projection is an option, but wouldn't we lose some brightness?
Any other ideas I should look at?
What kind of electric screen should I get for a congregation that size, with that wide viewing angle and with lots of ambient light?
Oh... and we don't have a lot of money. Just wanted to REALLY make it challenging. :)
Any help is very appreciated.
