Hello, I have the possibility to buy the JVC or the Panasonic for a very similar price. Now my big concern is the contrast ratio on the JVC (15,000:1) should I be concerned about it?
Thanks
Berny
I recently acquired a brand new JVC DLA-RS1X and am noticing significant video artifiacts / ghosting around titles and other detailed images when viewing standard def (DVD) material through a Denon AVR-4308CI over HDMI sourced from a Sony PS3. With video games through the PS3 over the identical setup I have no issues and the picture is clear.
Here’s what I’ve tried:
a) specifically and individually upscaling separately at each of the PS3, the Denon, the projector itself and the problem remains roughly the same
b) connecting using analog (component video) connection from a standalone DVD player to the projector directly; here the artifacts were slightly reduced, but still visible and troublesome to the eye
I’ve heard that power conditioning of the projector’s source outlet will help. But before I go out and buy a bunch of expensive power conditioning equipment, I wanted to tap into the collective wisdom of this group … any tips on why this is happening and what I can do about it?
