As far as I can tell, it's a typo on Projector Central. The projectors really seem identical, including the manuals.
If you intend to carry the projector, I think you may still be better served with LCD... Maybe LCOS if you can find one. The DLP with a color wheel which spins and is fragile needs to be considered carefully.
LCD and LCoS have no moving parts inside other than the cooling fans which are far less fragile than color wheels. I do believe that LCD can have color issues after a number of years of usage, especially if air filters are not cleaned properly, but I don't think this is any better/worse than the reliability of color wheels over several years of usage, especially if the projector is moved regularly.
More importantly, the appearance of the rainbow effect with DLP is a big headache (literally) for some people and can detract from the overall presentation if someone is susceptible.
Pleae note: Projector Central has a great feature called "Feature Search" which lets you specify a projector by several different areas.
In your case: A 1024x768 projector between 0-$700 and weighing less than 4 pounds...

7 results, and I would lean towards the Sanyo because they have so many high end models to draw technology from. |
