After researching over the past year and half, plus with the completion of my theater room I am looking to run my choices by everyone and get some suggestions on things I am on the fence about. Pictures of the room will be attached so y'all can get a clear idea of my room. My current choices for the room are as follows:
Epson Powerlite Home Cinema 1080 UB - ceiling mounted (wife recommended)
Carada screen in cinema white - not sure how large I should go, maybe 110" - see pic for details
Onkyo 605 receiver or Yamaha 463 or 563
Speakers are not chosen but I am planning on using bipoles in the rear because of an odd 45 degree wall, again see pic where right side bipole is listed.
Home theater pc - I will try to build my first system
Wii
Xbox 360
My questions:
Do you think the cinema white is the best choice of material in screen since I am going to have very little ambient light and will it match well with the PJ?
Does anyone have recommendations on speakers that will match well with the two options of A/V receivers?
The HTPC is going to be used as a DVR and I am thinking of using the new dual HD tuner card by DViCO. Is there anything I should be aware of when sending the signal to the PJ? I will sedn the signal from the PC to the receiver and then from the receiver to the PJ via HDMI. I have not decided on a video card for the htpc as of yet.
Okay hit me with info, |

It's not so much the resolution that's got me interested in a new projector (although when viewing a 110" image from 14 feet, 1080p should be visibly sharper than 720p), it's the black levels. My Z5 has decent blacks, but in very dark scenes the blacks still appear bluish gray (and this projector has been calibrated by one of the best). The Epson 1080UB should be brighter and have superior blacks compared to my Z5. |

i currently have a Classe ssp-30, i don't know enough to determine if i should buy an integra DTC - 9.8. i know classe is a fine piece of equipment. would going w/ the integra be a lateral move? the only benefit i'm sure i would realize is the HDMI 1.3 and the switching capability that would come with the latest piece of gear. the integra is getting some rave reviews. does anyone have an opinion on if i should or shouldn't? |

Thanks for everybody's input.
I have decided to go with the Epson home cinema 1080 UB as my projector of choice and try out different screen sizes by projecting on the wall first.. Can't wait.
