I am looking for confirmation, that i need a new fan for my projector. I asked on craigslist what people think might be in need of replacement, the consensus was power supply. I called epson, he thinks it's likely 1 of the 4 fans needs replacing. Here's what it's doing/not doing. Doing: Red power light is solid red. The heat light is flashing red. What's it not doing: WORKING!! When i turn it on, it sounds quieter then it should, the green power light flashes for a few seconds, then it does what i mentioned above. The epson person on the phone says it's alot cheaper to replace the fan, then the power supply, so that's a bit of good news. The local epson retailer said friday he would get back to me, when he locates a fan. As for repair, i'm well aware of the dangers of changing it myself, and i'm willing to take them, in order to save money. We just sold our DLP Big Screen, so we are putting alot of faith in this projector. Next issue is finding a website, retailer or whatever i need to, in order to get a fan ordered and get this back up and running. Thankfully my pc monitor has an hdmi input, so i'm able to watch directv in HD. If it wasn't, i'd really be miserable. Note: I'm not 100% sure if i have an Epson Powerlite 83+ or 83c. The projector itself is mounted on my ceiling. It looks like both.
