Topic:   Projector Basics

Hi folks, I'm seeing knowledge tossed about here so lets see what happens, eh? I'd like to purchase a projector... my first one. This becomes a task with all the needed items. Right now, it has to be a Sony product and with reasons holding me to this I seem to find that the only one I can afford would be the VPL-AW15. I have a rolled up screen that my uncle got from W.Croncite years ago. It's about 9'x7' in size. I plan to build a frame for it. I could use input that will get me running. So far I've considered wireless components and/or Cables.com items I know (think)the first thing I'll need is the receiver, right? Keeping it "modestly priced", can somebody give me a rundown on which items I should get in a staggered order to offset cost and continue to build the system? The room this will be in is about 15'x25' with the viewing area where the couche and main seating is off to one side but I have a pool table on the other. Screen center will be approx. 7' from one wall over a fireplace on the end of the room. Thanx for any help, list, advice or assistance you may have to offer on this. Oh, I wanted to buy this projector by Christmas. It won't be up and running but the deadline of that can wait a bit. Chris

Topic:   Two Projectors, 1 Screen, 1 Image

I attend a church here in Rochester NY that just added a new projector system that has two projectors to create two images side-by-side that blends together perfectly to create one very wide image. It seems to be exactly what you are asking about. I know this was done as a professional installation, with special equipment and software. I have also seen a similar thing done in the Rochester planetarium. Again, I'm sure this is specialized equipment and expensive.

Topic:   HELP!!!! Adjusting picture to fit screen?????

Just finished setting up our bonus room with a 92" screen and Sony Bravia VPL-AW15 projector. The wife insisted that "pros" do the install and all I have been doing since then is fixing their installation!!!!!! Any way, I am having a very difficult time getting the picture to fit within the boundries of the screen. This is using a DirecTv HD reciever as the input source via HDMI. I can get it really close, but on the right hand side is about a 3" bleed over of light...if I adjust that to the left, I get a bleed over there. Using the zoom ring of the projector, I zoomed out and found that there is a bleed over area around the picture. In other words if the picture is a rectangle, there is a light whitish/blue hue around it. It is very annoying when it appears outside the screen. It was OK a couple of days ago, then, watching the game the other day it showed up(!?!?!?!?!?!?). Any help is needed.....the main purpose of the system is for sports(football).
