I am looking to buy a projector for dvds and xbox 360. I have about $500 to play with. I like the sony VPL-HS20 and the optoma dv11. I believe the sony is 780p compared to 480 on the optoma. However, the optoma has more lumens and contrast. Best <$500 16:9 projector? |

I have a MovieTime DV10 (the one posted is the new one released in April) and it is a nice travel projector. I haven't read your whole story yet, but this projector has a built in DVD player, built in speakers, and a decently short throw distance. The projector is built for travel -- complete with shoulder bag included in the box. Just a consideration! |

I'm trying to decide between the DV10 and DV11. I realize the DV11 is just starting to ship, but I was wondering if anybody has any experience with it. Also, I was wondering if anybody knew what "improvements" the DV11 has over the DV10. The DV11 can be ceiling mounted, but the DV10 seems to have better performance (essentially the same lumens but much better contrast), a better warranty (2 years vs 1 yr) and a lower price (because it's the "old" model). Am I missing something obvious that makes the DV11 better than the DV10? Any help from the experts out there on comparing these two models would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you! |
