I have been working on setting up my own home theater in my basement and have been offered a Marantz VP4001 from an aquantaince. He says the unit is brand new. I noticed that on the internet, prices are all over the place. So my questions are, is this as good a unit as he says it is, and how much is it really worth?
I'm hoping to have this whole thing sorted out soon so any information would be greatly appreciatated.
My VP4001 recently would not power up. I assumed the bulb was dead and replaced it, but the projector is still completely dead? Is there a internal fuse. Does anyone know of power supply issues or other problems on this model?

If I hadn't already bought the Acer PH530, I'd definitely jump on this. I was considering the VP4001 brand new at over $1200!
