This is a problem with LCD projectors that use organic LCD panels. Newer LCD projectors that use inorganic panels are said to have eliminated this problem. I had the same issue with my Panasonic AE500 after a year and a half.

I have yellowed area in the middle of my image on a Z5, would that be result of the PCD panel problem or just dust. I have tried to remove any dust with the supplied air puffer but it makes no difference. |

Well, well, it's been 2yrs since I've spent any real time on this forum. Then it was for fact finding and research, now it is for problem solving and general opinions.
Here we go. I have Sanyo PLV-Z5 and the lamp went out last night. The projector is 2yrs old last month, and the lamp went a good deal longer than expected. I've not had ANY problems with this projector during that time. The picture is/was still great. BUT now I'm juggling my options. Do I buy a replacement bulb and hope it works for a while when I get it (or at all), OR do I just move on to a DLP projector or a flat screen of some type?
I found a decent price on the replacement lamp (pt#610-323-5998), but decided to look around and see if there were any problems with replacing the lamp in this model. I didn't find anything directly with the PLV-Z5, but I did find a few posts that had to do with Sanyos not wanting to start up once the new bulb was replaced, and there were never any solution posts. And if that's the case after I get a lamp, how much does servicing a projector cost? Anyone know a range? So for replacement, I'm not sure it's worth the cost.
While I was thinking about that, I went ahead and looked at upgrading. I'm would be looking for something in the $1500-$2000 range. Any suggestions?
So to sum up: Is fixing the PLV-Z5 worth, or should I move on.
I'm looking for opinions here, so feel free to chime in. Or not.

Hi,
I'm gonna buy a calibration disc, so I'd like to know which is the best option right now?
Also, will calibrating a display with a BD disc make it calibrated for DVD playback from a different player as well? Or should I buy a different calibration DVD disc?
Thanks :) |

Who can help me?
I'm trying to project between:
My powerbook G4 (via DVI adaptor for VGA cable). The aspect ratio of the computer screen is 1280 x 854.
and
Sanyo Z5, the aspect ratio of the projector is 1280 x 720.
The projector got 8 screen settings to qdjust the aspect ratio: (Full, Full through, Caption in, Normal, Normal through, Natural wide1 en natural wide 2). The computer normally detects screens automaticly.
When I project with the computer the projected image is never the same as the image on the computer screen,it's either stretched, cut off,...
How do I get a correct image between the two?
thanx,
