Thanks for your kind reply. It is LCD projector and I guess a sudden shock (a book fallen on it) It was not a major fall down of the projector or so. in this case, a major damage can occur. However I heard that sudden shocks damages the electrodes in the lamp and the lamp can work further as the aged one.(I am not sure whether it is true): If it is true, I am happy that I can replace new lamp and enjoy using it. In addition to that, failure of other components such as power supply etc. should stop functioning the system or could result in weird functioning.
Let me know is there any chance for my view to be correct.
Thanks in advance.

Suddenly a book fallen on my projector NEC VT590 when it was running.
Later suddenly the pictured turned dimmer. It lost 60-70% brightness. What could be the problem? But the lamp life is just around 500 hrs.
Would it solve the problem if I replace new lamp? KIndly advice me on this.

Hi; I have my NEC VT590 projector. Now the lamp of the projector is not bright enough. I am not satisfied with dim light. I use this for watching movies. I like to watch movies with as much better quality as possible. Could someone suggest me does replacing the bulb would solve the problem? or can I go with new budget DLP projector ?
Which would be better for me? If I buy new NEC V260 DLP projector or just replace a new bulb to my old NEC VT 590 projector? IF I have to replace the bulb how much I can spend for new compatible bulb (Buying original bulb also costs almost equalant to new NEC V260 projector.
KIndly advice me on this.
