Topic:   New home theater...general projector question

I have an Optoma throwing an image onto a 92" diag. widesceen. Seating distance is around 8' currently until I get it mounted on the ceiling. My room is approx. 21' L x 11' W. Unit sits on a cabinet currently at about 10' I have the zoom set to nearly minimum. I suggests experimenting with different media sources and widescreen formats before mounting the unit to the ceiling. You want to mount it at a distance that you will find provides the largest display for the widest HD format like 2.4:1. The other comment was correct. As you expand the zoom you are reducing the lumen/ sq.ft.

Topic:   Optoma HD70 vs HD73

Can anyone give me info that the Optoma HD73 is as bright if not brighter than the Optoma Hd70 ? I want to upgrade from the Optoma Hd70 to Hd73 but I was stopped in my tracks by one review that said the Hd73 is significantly less than the manufacturers claimed ANSI brightness. The Hd 70 is bright enough for me I just want the DLP 3 chip and higher contrast but I don't want to sacrifice at the cost of loss of brightness. If they are even in brightness then that is fine by me ! HELP !

Topic:   Optoma HD73?

Anyone heard what the holdup is on the release of this projector. I heard a rumor about a color wheel issue. But now that it's nearly 2 months past the original projected release date I'm wondering if it's a more serious problem.
