I'v had my PTAE1000 for almost a year. It has 700 hours and is used for Blu-ray movies and PS3 games.
I now have a problem with the screen brightness flickering.
It is at a point where it is unwatchable.
I ran lamp in normal mode with fan set to low elavation.
Could it be the Lamp? Should i try connecting a different source?
Thanks for any help.

Hey Gang I just picked up a Panny 1000u, I don't have a screen yet as I am testing sizes. But I'm not sure what the manual considers the true screen size tomeasure to. In the lens setup do I measure to the full display or the guides. (see attached picture) I'm assuming full display.

Panasonic rebates almost never go away. Prices will definitely come down in September when new models are announced. My advice though is buy when you are ready to start using it. I would not count on a free bulb deal. I do not remember panasonic ever having one.
Hey guys, Here in Calgary I have found a deal on the AE1000 for $2998.00 CDN that includes an extra bulb..good? What do you think, should I just order the AE2000 from the states? I've allready checked my lighting conditions on this forum and Feedback was positive for this projector.
Any info much appreciated.

Hey Gang, in a nutshell. I am fence riding on the only room I can really put a projector in my house. The room is a bonus room above the garage with a 8' X 5' window that has a crescent on the top.(see pics) It faces east, and is bright during the day, but at night quite dark. (not theatre dark but close) I've been looking at putting in a Panasonic AE1000U projector with a Greyahawk screen. It would be used for evening movies and some sports. Am I in projector la la land, or is this worth going for. Anything to get me off of this fence is muchly appreciated.

I bought a 50's ranch house in August specifically for the basement. Since I was a child I've always wanted a home theater and this was my chance to do it. The entire project cost less than $20,000. Thank God for home equity! The first thing I purchased was the panasonic PT-AE1000U projector. I've heard so much about it and wanted to see what kindoff picture and size I could get with it. I was blown away by the quality! That is why I decided to go for the big screen. The physical dimension of the screen is 11 1/2 feet by about 6 1/2 feet. The room is 15' by 36'.
