Topic:   PT-AE1000U vs Vivitek H1080FD

i bought the ptae20000 based on my friends ptae10000 projector. With the right screen i think the ptae10000 is fine, your friend that has the projector for 700.00 and a new blub is a good deal, also the 1000 has inorganic panels not organic panels as someone else stated, this is just my personal view, based on what i have seen with this projector.

Topic:   Replace fan in Panasonic PE-AT1000U

Does anyone know anything about replacing the fan in this unit? I think the bearings are going out on ours (grinding noise) - can I just use a regular PC fan of the proper size? Panasonic does not list a fan part number/description on their website. Thanks.

Topic:   Panasonic PT-AE1000U "sleep mode"????

Exact same problem as many folks. Panasonic will tell you its the lamp. (Mine has 1,200 hours.). But if you search, you will see others think there is a problem with the "iris" (?). There a few videos out there for how to lube a shaft with WD-40 to fix this. I completed the procedure and still have the problem. I just put up a post about when is a lamp bad - could that really be the problem. (I mean, it always lights up...). Best of luck on this and I'll let you know how I finally resolve my issue. John

Topic:   When is a lamp Bad?

When is a projector bulb bad? I've got a Panasonic PT-AE1000U. Lamp technically has 1,250 hours on it, but may of these were for a blank-screen (no input) due to a family member not turning all components off. I thought my projector suffered from the dreaded Panasonic lost-picture disease. (The iris or something doesn't stay open after about 1-5 minutes of projection... flashing yellow power light. Need to hard reset... used to fix it.) Anyway, I did the common fix to lubricate the iris - still has the problem. At times I will see the light intensity on the screen drop just a touch for a brief second. All in - could this actually be the lamp? (as panasonic said it was?) I mean, if the lamp lights - does that mean it's still good, or, could cause problems? Thanks

Hi Krazy, Did you find a resolution to this problem? I've had mine for a similar amount of time and just started noticing an intermittent flickering.
