Topic:   PT-AX100U vs Optima HD65

I'm new to projection devices. Not sure which one to get. How do they compare with each other? Here is the Panasonic one... http://honolulu.craigslist.org/mau/ele/1336266207.html or should i just get the HD65 from costco brand new? http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11257635&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&lang=en-US&s=1 Which one is the "better" projector? Help!

Topic:   Should I Change My Bulb for the SuperBowl?

Hi guys, So I have a Pt-AX100U and am very happy with it. We are very careful with the unit and haven't moved the projector in over a year. The current bulb has over 4000 hours on it and is going strong. I am having a SuperBowl party and am contemplating replacing the bulb. For normal viewing I can't see any problems with the current bulb but I am thinking that maybe it has gotten dimmer over time and being that I watch it everyday I probably can't tell. Can anyone comment how much brightness the bulb has lost? Is there a chart somewhere graphing brightness over hours? Would there be a noticeable difference? I'd like to have the best possibly viewing experience for the game but these bulbs are really expensive!!! Thanks in advance, slevytam

Topic:   Pt-AX100U

I have had the Pt AX100U projector for about 1 year now. 750 hours of usage. Since about 2 months now and more and more my image fades ffrom a clear picture and fades to a not as clear picture constantly. Can this be a problem with my lamp or can be something else. I find that if it is my lamp I have not gotten a lot of usuage out of it as it should be good for 2000 hours. Your help would be greatly appreciated as I do not want to buy a lamp at 400 bucks and then find out that this was not the issue. Thanks

Topic:   PT AX100 trembling / vibrating image

The strangest thing just happened to me. My ceiling mounted Panasonic PT AX100 started to tremble the image. First thought was that because of the ceiling mount some lose screw was probably the cause of the entire projector casing vibrating (due to the fan blowing air). After tightening every screw i could find, including the lensshift stick, and realigning the projector to be as good as horizontal it's still vibrating my image. It's also not a constant vibrate but a sinus-ish vibrate (to me confirming the source is the fan) I'm 99.9% sure that the casing is not moving. Also it's not the screen i'm projecting on thats moving either. Conclusion: i'm 99.9% certain that something on the inside is vibrating due to the fan. A little background on the beamer. I've bought it feb. 2007, in nov. 2007 it got its iris replaced for the first time, and in feb 2008 it got its second new iris. So officially, my guarantee period is over. The lamp's got ~550hours on it and is working perfectly except the mentioned problem. Also the self check in the engineering menu doesnt reveal any problems, the fan checks are ok and everything is in the white. Also the day before i started noticing the vibrating i used "Dust off" (can of compressed air which is electronica friendly) on the projector. I've done this before without any problem, it looks like coincidence to me, but just mentioning it just in case. Can anyone confirm if my assessment is right or wrong, and what my chances are for another guarantee repair? - I feel like some service to me isn't too much asked since all that transportation post-purchase could definately have helped this problem.
