Juts bought a used HD70 with only 100 hrs on it and all is fine EXCEPT that there is some faint light (backlight?) that is projecting beyond the image itself.
No matter how I adjust the focus or keystone, it's always there, primarily toward the lower part of the picture and increasingly worse at the far right corner.
Although the light is faint -- it is there and annoying, depending on how dark the room is.
My image is about 5.5 feet wide and there is a good 4 or 5" gap of light down there.
What is that?
Is it a mirror alignment problem perhaps? An easy fix (for optoma) or a very serious problem?
Thanks kindly for any answers.
Hi, I had this same issue on my Optoma HD70. I recently received a comment from a HD72 owner who used my tutorial located at http://tantht.blogspot.com to clean out his HD72 and he mentioned that my tutorial was "spot on" so maybe you can give it a shot for yourself. Good Luck

I have just started converting half of my garage into a home theater. My garage is seperate from the house so that will help with noise. If I change half the garage into the theater then it will be 14' 28' with either 8 or 9' celing (I'll have to measure dont remember hight) Does this sound like a good size or is it too small or too big for the projector I have? (Optoma HD70) is there any advice as Im new to this. Also the floor is dirt as of right now I have not poured the concrete as of yet (is there anything that I need to put under the floor like cables or would going over the top be better? thanks for any advice
Hello,
I had the same problem as this movie last night but in continu
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uz3z129CDzk
After dismantled completely and turned on for 2 hours the problem has not reappeared but I projected an image without movement and not a movie...
The HD70 is out of warranty since 3 months and is already going to Optoma 2 times during the warranty, once in November 2008 for a problem of random green flash.
Do you think is the color wheel problem?
Where I can find a color whell for the HD70 on the web ?
Does it require to sync after change ?
Sorry for my poor english but i'm French...
^^
Thanks a lot for your help
My room is 11" x 11" and I am projecting on to a 92" screen. The projector is resting on a shelf. Because of the throw distance I can not fill the screen from this distance. Consequently I have alot of light spillage around the picture. Is this normal or can I make some kind of projector adjestment to correct the issue?
Thanks
