I recently got my HD7100 up and running, and have been a little disappointed in the image quality. I am projecting on a 106" Carada BW and the main seating distance is approximately 10'6". I have only viewed a few hours of standard dvd's, and am using a Sony NS75H dvd player outputting through HDMI to a Gefen switcher, which then outputs DVI to the projecetor. My test material has come from "The Fellowship of the Ring", "Troy", and "Finding Nemo." "Finding Nemo" looks very good, but I ran into problems with the other two. The main problems are a lot of image noise and also the image isn't as sharp as I thought it was going to be. Some scenes look good, but others (things in the background, some close ups, etc) are blurred. Any suggestions on what might be wrong or how to clean up the image? Are my expectations just to high? Am I sitting to close? Any recommendations you guys have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance |

My HD7100 projector was delivered the other day, but was left on the front steps. I live in a relatively cold climate so the projector was sitting outside in 0 degree temperatures for around 5 hours or so, and some snow did accumulate on the box (when brought inside the box became wet). I was advised to not run the projector for at least 24 hours because in doing so could lead to some problems due to the cold and water accumulation, not to mention the possibility of future problems. My questions are, should I be concerned that my projector was exposed to this type of weather for this period of time? Is this going to lead to any problems now or down the road? Is there anything I should look for in terms of performance that may be signs of anything wrong? Any information you may have on this would be greatly appreciated (and would also set my mind at ease!). Thanks in advance. |

Costco.ca just launched the 7100 at a crazy deal with screen. I was going to get the HD7300 but this is too good to pass up.

BB had the HD70 for 10% off and 18 months same as cash as of 10/30/06. Should last until tomorrow at least. |

A couple sellers have reduced to 2995 price tag plus optoma is giving away FREE extended warrenty, 300 rebate, and i read about a free lamp... cant find a retailer yet that will give the lamp with the free extended warrenty, rebate and lamp, but when i do ill buy it! Anyone have experience with the 7100? it looks like a great deal for sure... |
