Topic:   NEC NP2000 issues

Hello everyone, I have an issue with my NP2000. It doesn't show a very bright picture. Definitely not 4000 lumens. I checked on the light bulb and it seems fine, but I noticed some glass. plates in an angle in the back of the projector. Is that normal?

Topic:   Meeting Room Replacement Projector

Hey guys, I was hoping I could pick someones brain about replacing our aging NEC NP2000, its been a great projector but it just doesn't have the resolution we need anymore and we want to go widescreen. A couple projectors that caught my eye were the Panasonic PT-RZ370 or possibly the Sony VPL-FHZ55, I like the idea of not having lamps/filters to replace/maintain. Regarding the WUXGA resolution on the Sony and the HD resolution on the Panasonic, will there be much of a difference between the two? Its going to be a massive leap from 1024x768 anyway right? I'm open to suggestions if Laser/Hybrid light sources aren't the way to go but I would like to stay in the 3-4K price range. Note the source content will almost always be Powerpoints and presentation type stuff so brightness takes precedence, although the room is light controlled. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Topic:   NP2000 Overheating Indicator

I purchased a NEC NP2000 projector on auction that needed a bulb. I've installed the new bulb. However, the bulb doesn't seem to want to fire up. It will give a warming up signal for a bit, I can look into the lense and see the ballast fire up for about 15 seconds and then the power indicator blinks steady orange and the status indicator gives a two cycle red blink. The manual indicated this is a temperature error. However, the bulb never fires up to even get the thing warmed up. The fan is blowing strong and the air it is pushing out is not warm. I have held down the help button on the projector and hoping I just needed to clear out some settings but no luck. Anyone have any ideas for a next step. Take the cover off and vacuum the inside? Thanks for any help.
