Hello All:
Being new to front projection I was glad to find this website and forum which has already given me a lot of useful information.
I do have a couple of questions of which I would be grateful for any feedback.
1) I would love to find a retail vendor or showroom somewhere in my hometown (Denver) that can show me side by side comparisons of some of the projectors that I've been looking at. But I'm not sure what to look for here. Any ideas? It seems that places like Best Buy, etc. will usually have 1 setup that you can actually view with the others just sitting on a shelf somewhere. I'm hesitant to spend big $$$ for a projector that I've never seen in action. My guess is that projectors can be like flat panel TVs. You can have 2 side by side with the exact same specs but the pictures will look very different.
2) I've been looking at the Mitsu HD4000U. For the $$$ I want a DLP projector with the brightest picture and with good contrast. This one seems to have it (along with HDMI input). Can anyone offer any opinions about this projector? My room is about 12 x 12 and is not a completely controlled environment in terms of lighting. I guess my biggest concern might be fan noise for this unit. It seems to run a bit louder then other models.
As for other accessories, I plan on purchasing a surround system, receiver, and screen as well. However, my focus right now is on the projector itself.
Thanks for any assistance!

Does anyone have any experience with this PJ?

It looks interesting... with a grey screen, it could work well in a room with ambient light. |

This looks nice. 2500:1, 2000 ANSI, 1280x768, and LENS SHIFT. Finally a DLP w/ lens shift. |
