We bought the xvz 2000 ~ 4 years ago hoping it would last awhile (only used to watch movies weekly). Well, the screen suddenly turned green with "snow"/static last week. We've been told that it's not worth fixing and we should just replace it. Although we've always been happy with the picture quality, we're a bit disappointed with the projector quality considering we haven't had to replace the bulb yet! Any suggestions for a 720p projector from a reliable company that would be comparable and not cost an arm and a leg i.e. < $1,500? We had the Sony VPL-BW7 installed but, quite frankly we're very disappointed with the picture quality (picture is not sharp on 90" diagonal screen). The installer is coming out today to make sure the installation was done correctly. Lastly, should we be concerned with the color degradation associated with LCD projectors? Should we stick with DLP?
