Topic:   Maximum Screen size used for Mitsu HC3000 owners

Thanks for the input - I have a questions regarding installation of the HC3000 - how do I know whether this projector is right for ceiling installation in my home? I am asking this as several people have mentioned the lack of physical lens shift to be a considerable problem. Also - is there any ceiling mounting hardware that you would recommend over the other? Thanks again!

Topic:   Maximum Screen size used for Mitsu HC3000 owners

Hi gang, So now that I'm slowly screening down the type of projector to get, I've narrowed it down to the Mitsu/BenQ/Optoma (definitely DLP) - my other big question is screen size. I will be installing the PJ in a walk-out basement, the back of the room has a door that leads out with 2 fairly good sized windows. Most of this will be covered with dark drapes. My question is for those of you who own the Mitsu or any projector in a fairly-well light controlled room - what size screen would your recommend? I would ideally like to know if the Mitsu has enough power to throw down on a 106 inch screen? Would any say that it could 110! That would be great!!! Or do you feel, something smaller like 90 or 96 inches would suffice?? Also has the lack of physical lens shift been a considerable problem during installation? How far back have most of you installed the PJ? What kind or screen do many of you have - what is the gain on the screen?? Thank you taking the time to answer so many questions! Sincerely, AVAB

Topic:   best buy selling HC3000 this week for $2,375

Best Buy is selling HC3000 in their stores this week. This applies to big-screen TVs, but should work with projectors also: A salesperson told me that you can get an extra 5% off if you do take their card and pay the item off (instead of the no-interest deal). http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7650286&type=product&id=1134699413057

The Mits is an outstanding projector for the money. Mounting of the projector has been the biggest falt mentioned by people. I did not find it that hard to mount if you are willing to make some minor compromises. If you are not in a hurry, the field of low cost 720 projectors, will begin to open up here in the next month or so. At 2500 bucks, it is very hard to beat this projector.
