Topic:   Optoma HD72 and PS3

I just installed my PS3 to a Mists HC3000u via component cables through a Pioneer reciever. While gaming on the PS3 the projector shows a 720p input. However when I install a blu-ray disc and watch a movie, the input switches to 480. I tried to make adjustments in the BD menu but couldn't change anything. I have some HDMI cables on order but was wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if it just needs to be connected by HDMI cable.

Topic:   Hc3100 or HD7100

I have a HC3000U. I love it but the darks could be better. The color has been great. I am looking for a new projector now. And I am deciding between Mits HC3100 (updated HC3100 with dark 3) or Opt HD7100. Anyone got an opinion on either? Thanks.

Topic:   Fixed screen location for a Mitsubishi HC3000U

I think I've finally decided on which projector I want. After much research I've decided to go with the Mits HC3000U (close call with Optoma HD72). Now, I have some basement framing starting and I need to know approximately where my screen will go. I have 9 foot ceilings, and the overall width of my screen must be less than 85". I was looking at the Carada Presision 92" diag, which is just over 84" with a 2 inch black border. Question is how high from the ceiling/ground will this picture be? I've tried to calculate the offset but an example I saw was using 100" screen. Based on the projector calculator, the throw distance is between 10.9 to 13.2'. I'd probably split the difference and mount it around 12' since the ceiling is also not finished yet and I can mount it basically anywhere I want. One thing that is confusing me though is that the calculator shows the image height to be 47", but the fixed screen height for a 92" diag is 45.1". I'm not sure but I think the differences in my image/screen size are due to the Mits HC3000U being a 15x9 native resolution projector. Is this going to cause me problems with a 1.78 fixed screen, or since I have 2 inches all the way around in black frame will I be okay? Thanks to all in advance. I love this site and have learned so much in a short time but I still have a lot more to learn!

Topic:   Please help? No dedicated home theater room--projector for general TV replacement?!?!

Now I'm replying to MYSELF--how sad is that? I also found the Mitsubishi HC3000U at projectorusa.com for just under $1500, so now I should consider this one as well! Again I have the same questions as above, but add this projector to the list! Darn...

Topic:   HD72 - ceiling hieght

Mitsubishi HC3000U I tried this projector and loved its performance picture quality. My only problem is I can't project to my 120" screen properly without tilting up the projector from my same level ceiling/screen setup. This makes the picture trapezoidal and I am force to adjust the keystone to max to get the picture straight rectangular. I want to know if this affects quality of picture and possible edge distortions.
