Topic:   Moving to another Projector LCD to DLP????

I just want to add my 2 cents. I went from a dalite white screen to a greywolf II. my sanyo z4 projector is mounted on a 7ft ceiling and the actual lens is at about 6'7" from the floor, my throw is 12'4 and I do not have any complaints with the greywolf II. it is definitely brighter and more contrasty than the dalite. actually the results are startleing. I do have some ambient light issues, white ceiling, tan carpet, leakage around the drapes, thats why i switched over. When you state that ceiling mounts dont work with glass bead screens. you really need to specify "how high is up" at 7ft I have no issues and the picture is only slightly brighter standing up than sitting down. I still get a brighter picture with my ceiling mount and the greywolf than I had with the daylite. I do however acknowledge that the higher you raise the projector the less benefit the 1.8 gain will give you.. you however you will still have a more contrasty image with the grey wolf then with a pure white screen.

Topic:   problem: sanyoZ4 random shutdowns after lamp change

i bought two bulbs just like you described. they are not tru sanyo manufactured bulbs and now i am replacing my projector. one of them damaged the lens next to he bulb while it was overheating. closer inspection of both bulbs show they are 165 watts and not the 145 watts as required for the z4. they look exactly like the one you describe. i bought them 2 weeks apart from two different companies, advanced lamps and electrified discounters. i would recommed returning the bulb before it ruins your projector and stick with bulbs manufactured by sanyo.

Topic:   problem: sanyoZ4 random shutdowns after lamp change

i'm having an issue with my PJ randomly shutting down recently after i changed the lamp. it has never been an issue before, but it's doing this pretty regularly now. my PJ is the sanyo Z4 and is 4 years old. no smokers in the house, kept in a very low dust and cool basement. one thought i had was that the place i ordered the latest lamp from gave me a bad lamp. i ordered it from electrified.com through recommendations i got here. the lamp that i got had a few noticeable differences from the one i replaced. instead of a thin metal screen vent(?) it had a hard plastic screen with fat holes. one other thing i noticed is that occasionally the new lamp will click a few times before it comes on. any thoughts on what else could be the issue? thanks in advance, matt

Topic:   Blue light spattered on screen - Sanyo PLV-Z4

This projector is 3-4 years old. I'm on my 3rd or 4th bulb. Has always worked great but now I'm getting a splash of blue light across the screen. Its not even light, There's a bright blue area in the upper left and a lrail of blue spattered diagnaly across the screen. I have 1,500 hours on the bulb so It's getting due for replacement but what is causing this blue light? I dont want to buy a $300 lamp if there is a problem with the projector???? Thanks Steve

Topic:   Hot spot

Over the last few months I've begun to notice a "hot spot" on my screen. In other words, the illumination isn't even and I can clearly notice the projector beam on the screen. I thought it might be the bulb and changed it, but the hot spot became more pronounced. It is possible that the hot spot has always been there I guess, but I sure wasn't aware of it before. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any adjustment I can make to fix it? BTW, I have a Sanyo PLV-ZR mounted on a shelf at the middle of the screen.
