I am tortured about whether is better to get the Yamaha 2600 with the Upscaling for $900 or
go with something about $600 with no upscaling. If my DVD player is the OPPO and I have digital cable and HD cable, why do I need the upscaling? Is it only for VHS? Is it worth the $300?

When you say mediocre equipment is being paired with this reciever,
what are you talking about. If you spend $1500-$2000 on speakers is that mediocre? |

I just purchased the Samsung SP-H710AE and was wondering if
the fact that it does not have an HDMI port is a problem, it only has DVI,
Then what is a good receiver for 7.1 in the $500-1000 area, and
a dvd player to add to the system? |

I guess many has read th review of the Samsung SP-H710AE
If not have a look here
http://www.projectorcentral.com/samsung_sph710.htm
It is all praises throughout. The reviewer has tried to redefine the word film-like with this projector.
Will definitely look forward to have a demo of this. Any owners yet? A bit high in price but purists will not find an axcuse to say no i guess.
this site is selling at $1000 less than the MSRP. but strangely the heding says it is a LCD...
