Hi everyone, obscure question here.
I have a NEC WT610 projector here. I am having all sorts of trouble
finding a wired PCMCIA network adapater for it that it will recognise.
So far I have tried a Linksys 10/100 and some old 10mbit card with a
dongle on it. The older one I think was 16bit and the projector showed
more signs of recognising this card since when it was inserted the PC
Card LED blinked for a few seconds, then stopped.
The manual states that I should be able to use a 'standard' PC Card
(Type 2), and to check the service section at www.nec-pj.com for
compatibility lists. I can not find such a page.
Does anyone have any experiences with using wired network adapaters in
NEC data projectors? What chipset do NEC use on their network modules? I
may be looking at buying a Realtek based card and see how that goes.
Cheers, John. |

The Goo screen paint is effective and a bargain for the performance. I spoke with the company and they elaborated on the installation. Go to the site and activate the 1 MB video installation. they explain the paint technique. they are based in Kingston, Ontario but ship via Montreal. It is a high grade acrylic over a base coat (white or gray) which acts much like a mirror backing of glass (to make a mirror).
You do need to expend some labour and screen material - a smooth flat stiff surface is best. You get a screen equal to one costing 5 times the price for your materials and efforts. That is why it is highly recommended. the key is good paint technique with 1/4" pile roller with the right gental technique.
I have looked closely at the NEC WT610 to get a large image. I am already set up to receive a ceiling mount front projector at 3.4 metre from the wall (screen). The NEC WT610 is limited to 100 diagonal. Are there front projectors that can equal 100 inch diagonal or better at the 3.4 metre distance. I am seeking alternatives to the NEC WT610 that would be better value for the dollar. |

This model might meet your needs for a short throw projector
It's an unusual design that places a projector as close to the screen as possible
but still providing a large viewing image and good Picture quality in less than Ideal environments.
http://www.nec.co.uk/NEW_MultiSync_WT610.aspx
It would yeild a 1024x576 Widescreen image
The WT500 can be had for less
