I have 5 XJ-360 and 1 XJ-450 projectors as well. One of my XJ-360s started making weird grinding noises and the picture became basically black and white (a little red and a little blue stayed). So I unmounted it and took a look at it, and found that the plastic around the lamp had browned quite a bit, and as a result there is a little section right under the lamp where it had melted a tiny bit. I can't imagine this is good. So, three questions: 1) is this normal - that the plastic on the lamp is "browned", so to speak? 2) are the grinding noises associated with the lamp dying?
