Topic:   Optoma MovieTime DV10 vs DV11 Which?

The DV11 is 800 x 600 native. I can't see the advantage to that, perhaps they get a better price for that DLP chip than they do for the 854 x 480 chip? Anyway, I have a DV10 and can't say enough good things about it. Very pleased, and it has revolutionized our enjoyment of both DVD's and of regular broadcast television. I'd think about going to hi-def, but if I take my glasses off, it doesn't make any difference!

Topic:   Problem or not?

I just bought the DV10 and have a couple of issues. The first is that I can't get the projector to get out of brite mode and make it stay out of it when I have Image AI on. The second is that when I am focusing the picture the whole image on the screen moves a little bit, as if the housing of the lens is not quite "tight" enough. Has anyone else had problems like this? I bought it from Circuit City but, unfortunately, none of the stores within a 50 mile radius have it in stock so if I do need to return it, which I think I do, then I will have to wait. Unless they can ship me a new one with a return shipping tag for the old one.

Topic:   Better TV image w/which projector

Thank you all for giving me a quick response. If I understand correctly, seeing as I get a good picture when it's telecast in HD, then it's just the "garbage" I get with regular TV. I tried to get HDTV signals using OTA but couldn't get it to register but maybe it was because of the 100 ft coaxial cable that I used. I did get a crystal clear PBS channel but the other local channels "non HD" were very good to fair. Any thoughts on whether I should pursue this and how because that's all I really need with the movies being provided by Netflix. I also looked at using a computer to go thru the DV10 (went as far as got a WINTVR3 card and a GEForce 6200 card with dvi output to tv/vcr. Too much reading has probably mucked my mind so I am lost. As you can see, I'm all over the place so what is my best course of action?? We love our TV and occasional movies. Thanks for reading my rambling but as you can see I am lost. PS: Didn't understand HTPC and Dscaler or some kind of external video processor? Also I'm 66 years old so that doesn't help.

Topic:   Better TV image w/which projector

I presently have the Optoma DV10 and it has a great picture when viewing DVDs thru the unit or via DVR from Comcast Cable. My specs are 14.2" with 110" Dia. image which I would like to keep the 110" or very close. My problem is I watch a lot of TV and unless it is in HD, the image seems to be not very sharp. How do I get a sharper image? Do I need a 720p projector? If I get closer, I would loose 110"?. The room is 12 x 15. I would like to stay under $1000. I will have to sell the DV10. Am I dreaming???? I am new to this and as I read these posts, I get more confused. Please help!!!
