I want to buy the Toshiba TDP-MT700 projector. I've read many comparisons and my choice is definitive (except if someone can argue that the BenQ PE7700 is really better).
My big problem is that I don't know where to buy it online (I don't need irl support). I'm french but I'm living for a few weeks in Canada, and although that projector is easily available on most french online shops I know (for price between 1600 and 2200 euros, that is 1900-2600 US dollars or 2200-3000 Canadian dollars). But I don't know any good north american online shop.
What sites do you recommend (for both the projector and replacement bulbs) ? |

I recently purchased the BenQ7700 clone, Toshiba mt700. Not sure if you are interested in a DLP projector or not since your list only has LCD projectors. But I live in West Chicago and would be happy to setup a viewing for you. |

So I am trying to find a review of the Toshiba MT700, preferably compared to the Panny AE700. Has anyone been able to see these projectors side by side and compared their pictures? I was waiting for Evan to write up a review on it but haven't seen one yet. The MT700 seems to be one of the first sub $3k HD2 projectors and just wondering how it compares to the Panny. |

Hi,
I am new to these forums as well as projectors. I have just purchased a Toshiba MT700 from crutchfield, which they also give you a free 80" screen.
I have already mounted the screen seems like a 4:3 though :(.
But, anyway I am trying to stay away from ceiling mounting but to use a shelf. I was going to mount the projector close to the ceiling and mount the projector to plexiglass hanging upside down. I was going to mount the plexiglass to a nice shelf board and use extended L brackets so I can fish the wires behind in a wire channel.
The reason for mounting the projector upside down closer to the ceiling is because I have a big window behind my head. The room is actually quite dark so ambient light is no problem and controlled.
Some questions I need help with are as follows:
1) Has anyone done this before with this projector?
2) Does anyone know what type of screws or bolts that screw into the Toshiba MT700 projector?
3) Is what I am doing okay or should I get a ceiling mount? If a ceiling mount which one?
Thanks for any advice and information... |

I understand the difference between a digital and an analogue connection. I also understand that some signals and projectors display better in one or the other despite a native output. (Also, that there can be a personal preference here for color reasons)
My question is this...how much better/cleaner is the signal through HDMI/DVI than Component in general? Then, how much better is BNC than RGB component? Noticeable?
Finally, how does DVI/HDMI stack up against BNC?
I'm not too familiar with BNC but I just read an article which seemed to praise it... |
