Topic:   Infocus SP-7210 with Black Widow

I wanted to throw in some major kudos to the guys over at the shack for putting this truly impressive mix together. This has beat any expectations I had. The picture is stunning. I'm using an Infocus SP-7210 for a source as well. Here are some pics from this morning with some ambient light in the room. These were taken with my tripod. I had the F-Stop around 22 with the shutter staying open for 10 secs. I still need to tweak the camera settings a little more. The ISO may have been set too high. Can't wait to take some nice pics in the dark tonight.
I can't wait to hear your feedback on it. I am certain your going to be oozing with pride, and probably will be tempted to chortle to your friends about it too :D I can't wait to get mine.
Natja, I've been spending some time using the 7210 and I'm very, very impressed. Some of my time has been working on getting rid of the Silverscreen and going with Black Widow PFG. Right now I'm projecting on a Kilz2 primed screen and the results are incredible. I can imagine what this thing will look like on the new screen. The picture is so buttery smooth and the lamp is a torch, brightness is never an issue. It's actually too bright and I'll look for a ND2 filter. I have a 72mm polarizer which I'm going to try just to see what happens. The blues will really stick out but I'll have to see what suffers because of it. I haven't tried the truelife setting yet with feeding this component. I'll try that soon with the 360. I just wanted to pass some info over since it's been a while. Looks like the deal is over, congrats to all who have gotten in on such a steal. Cheers, Bidzer

I'll spend some time messing around with the calabration tonight. Threw some ambient light at it and all the projector did ws laugh. This is awesome. The Superbowl is going to be a treat!!!! Numerous people are currently considering this projector including myself. This projector may very well be the best home theater projector ever offered under $1700. It certainly beats many costing twice or even three times that much. The Infocus SP-7210 offers world class Carl Zeiss- all glass optics, and a 5x speed, 7 segment color wheel, top quality components, 1100 calibrated-cinema standard lumens, award wining Faroudja image processing, and comes calibrated from the factory with a natural and lifelike D6500K color accuracy, This projector just 17 months ago had an MSRP of $5000. It can now be found for as little as $999-$1299 through numerous sellers. I had mentioned that I read an review a while back where the SP-7210 was compared to a $30,000 Sim2 model. In that review the Sim2 was the victor naturally, but the reviewer was amazed at just how close the Infocus SP-7210 actually came. Though I cannot find this review active online any longer, the below review compares it with an $11,000 Sim2 model via a few brief comments. http://www.ultimateavmag.com/videoprojectors/905infocus/

If you want to stay with infocus by any chance I recommend the SP7210. It is the only 720p HD projector on the market with a Darkchip3 that can be found for as little as $1200. As apposed to the darkchip2 that the 4805 has this means much better blacks, much better color saturation, and better shadow detail. The 7210 has been getting great reviews and is considered a projector for image purists who have a very picky eye. This is the best bet right now for a world class image. Here is a review on it: http://www.hometheaterspot.com/htsthreads/tech-review.php?rev=86 Disregaurd the $6999 MSRP they listed there, it's out of date and the MSRP is much lower now.
