Just received my first projector. a Mitsubishi HC100U ColorView.
I want to use this as a replacement for all of my TV watching. DVD movies, playstation and regular cable TV. To accomplish this correctly it would seem that an Audio/Video receiver is needed. So I went looking for an A/V receiver and found an Onkyo TX-SR304S. This seemed like a reasonable entry level machine.
However, when it arrived there does not appear to be a way to hook up my standard coaxial cable into the Onkyo A/V receiver. The instructions tell me to hook up the cable directly to my TV. Well, of course I do not have a TV, I have a projector.
So, my question is how does one go about hooking up your cable TV viewing on a projector? The projector itself has no hookup for cable TV. An A/V receiver seems like the logical choice. But the A/V receiver I chose did not have a hookup for cable.
I realize that I could hookup my cable to a DVD player or VCR and then route the signal to my A/V receiver. But, the DVD player I have does not have a hookup for cable either. But, this seems like a backward method of accomplishing this. Why spend hundreds of dollars on an A/V receiver that does not allow for a cable connection.
Thanks for listening.
