Both Dwin and Sim2 include outstanding video processors with thier projectors. I highly recommend using an external video processor in leiu of almost all built-in scalers that come with video devices. A couple of reasons: 1) single cable run - by using a video processor you can have a pure digital path and only need to run a single cable for all inputs. This keeps you safe for future upgrades and makes the pre-wire that much easier. 2) there is definitely a quality improvement for most sources. a processor will help to eliminate certain artifacts. The DVDO processors are decent and will give you good bang for your buck. Still, the Dwin and the Sim2 processors, combined with their projectors can take you to another level. Belive it or not, an NTSC signal through DirecTV HR10-250, scaled and streched through the Dwin TV3 processor, actually looks watchable. Now that's a feat! |

As a professional custom designer and installer I find Stewart Screens to offer the greatest performance. Currently we are selling the Dwin TV3E projector with a Stewart StudioTek 1.3 gain screen on most jobs. Black levels are outstanding with this projector so grey materials are not needed. The Stewart Luxus Deluxe Screenwall costs more than most others, but the black velvet frame and easy assembly make it a top choice and it looks stunning. |
