Hey all, im new to the forums here, but i could really use some help
First of all, im a college student with not alot of cash to spend on a projector, but i do have a xbox 360, and would like to get some HD channels in the future (OTA or paid)
Now, the projector im currently looking at says it supports HD, but im guessing there is no HD chip in projectors, so that means i need an HD tuner to get HD channels, correct? I already have a home theater receiver that i dont want to replace, can i connect a HD tuner TO this receiver already?
ALSO
The Toshiba im looking at has a 800x600 SVGA resolution. Is this bad? i notice the high end proj's have 1280's at least. Plus this proj only comes in 4:3 aspect ratio. Do i want a 16:9 or 4:3? Yes ill watch dvd's with it, but i want to watch a lot of regular TV with my projector too, and ya i hear the picture will be bad, but how bad is bad?
Next, The Toshiba only supports the -15 pin, S-Video and composite cables, but doesnt say anything about component, HDMI or any other cables. DO I NEED component cable connections to truely enjoy my XBOX 360 or HD channels? I hear composite and S-Video are not true HD sources, so why would i buy a projector thats HD ready if the sources wont enable true HD images via connections.
My price range is up to id say $600. I would like something with 2000 ANSI and ratio, but require the stuff i mentioned above as well.
What should i do? Is this toshiba a good buy or will it be bad out of the box?

Good bang for the buck and all you really need is a s-video or VGA connection. Make sure you know the resolution of your powerpoint designs before you choose or make them to fit if you are doing it yourself. |
