[QUOTE=ido|Feb 9, 2009 10:32:23 PM]
found a place which sells it locally for $200, or from Korea for $130
and maybe I could get it for something in the middle locally too.
They said repair/installation would be another $70 ontop of the colorwheel price.
A. Anything I should check before ordering the part ?
C. Anything else I should check before i repair it ? - now, with no lightwheel, the PJ turns on, and I see the image ok, but in black/white , so i figure the PJ works ok.. am I correct, or should I check anything else ?
B. Could I do the Color wheel installation myself ? (I've already opened the device and took the older one out)
PS: can't get one from ebay since I don't live in the US, customs+shipping would be just around $700+50% , which makes it over a 1000 for another HD70. ain't worth it for me.

I recently moved into a school owned apartment complex with cable that is already provided. However, unfortunately they do not provide cable boxes. I called Dish Network, with whom the service is with and they were not able to help as the school would need to request the box. When I asked the school they were quite clear in stating that this is the service and nothing could be done about it, ie what u see is what you get. What I have is a coax cable from the wall that you can hook up to a tv, but no place for component, dvi etc...
Is there anyway that I can route the coax cable through another medium so as to hook up my projector. Do any receivers have this capability? Thank you. |

Guys,
I'm currently considering the 6800 model due to the $375.00 coupon and Costco's incredible deal including the screen, cable and mount. I have the H57 now which is in for servicing due to an HDMI handshake problem with the Toshiba HD-A1 player and my Rogers PVR (Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD).
I spoke with a Costco employee recently who bought an Epson projector there. He said the reason why he bought it there is because Costco will allow you to bring your projector in for exchange or credit if anything at all goes wrong. There is no time limit. He even said that a bulb dying is covered. So you are really taken care of by purchasing with Costco Canada. You have peace of mind knowing that if something goes wrong, you'll either get a replacement of the same unit or a refund so that you can purchase a comparable unit.
I'm also thinking about the H78DC3 but it's $2999.00. I may still go for it though. We'll see what happens when the 6800 coupon is valid. I'm curious about this price drop on the 6800 though. I'm wondering if it'll go back up to $2399.99 in time for the coupon date?
Either way, it's still beneficial to wait if you can. Buying now will cost more than what it'll cost in August whether they keep the price at it's current rate or return it to it's previous one.

I have set up my Optoma H57 ceiling mount center of the room 12 feet back from the screen. I can get the picture square on the top left and right side. No matter what we try with the Keystone controls the bottom of the picture tapers up (from left to right) 2". I am happy with the projector except for this detail is there a setting I am not using to correct this or is this a flaw in the projector.
Thanks for any help |
