I've been using this projector with my Sony Blu Ray play at 720P for almost a year. I took the projector off the ceiling and took it to a shop to check out a problem with the color depth. They couldn't find anything wrong with it. When I brought it home and hooked it back up, it won't display! I can play fine to the projector from my DVD player at 480P (and now the colors are correct). I can get my laptop to display on the projector at 1280x720. I can get a blu ray movie to play from my laptop to the projector. I can get the Sony blu ray player to display on my tiny HDTV at 1280p. But I can't get the Sony blu ray player to display anything on the projector, no matter how I reset the blu ray player or set the resolution.
I've tried two HDMI to DVI cables, and five HDMI cables. The Projector is DVI.
Any suggestions? Is it time for a new projector? |

any idea why a sharp dt-400 would have blank lines spaced out exactly the same as the non blank vertical lines on the screen? there are like 10 vertical stripes of image separated by equally sized stripes of blank space where no image is projected. see attached pictures. is this a hardware failure or is it a settings issue? either way, could someone please guide me to finding a solution? preferable a solution that does not include throwing the projector away and buying a new one.
thanks |

I just bought a new home with a media room in it and I am trying to determine which Sharp vision projector to get the SharpVision XV-Z2000 or the Sharp DT400. Or, for the money (looking to spend no more than $3000), can I get something better. :Looking for 720p native with 1080i compatable, using with my Comcast cable for HD, DVD and possibly PS2 or Xbox. The contrast ratio is very imporant, i have been told don't go below 2000:1. The room will have a throw distance of about 12'-13'. I am already pre-wired in my ceiling and the overall room is 15'6" long. Viewing distance from eye level is 11' I do have tall ceilings about 10'. Needing an expert advice, thanks. |

Hello All,
We are building a new house and i have talked the wife into a media room. The dimensions are 17' x 13'. I am wanting to buy the Sharp DT400 projector with a Stewart screen of atleast 100". Is this possible? What would be the biggest screen we could get? Is stewart worth the money? What is Rainbow effect?
Thanks in advance. |
