Topic:   Looking for Panasonic AE700U

I am interested in the Panasonic AE700u but have been unable to locate a dealer that has one on display. If possible, I would like to view the projector's picture before purchasing. I have read many reviews and comments about the projector on display at local dealers. Any suggestions on a dealer near Columbus, Ohio? Thanks

Topic:   is lens shift an imortant option?

Don't even think of buying a projector without lens shift. I am sold on this feature on my Panny 700, it makes ceiling mount, or shelf mount, set up alignment a snap, as opposed to being a very tedious job. I am also sold on the 2X zoom lens on the Panny 700, which enables you to put the projector at the back of the room, instead of the middle of the room where it is a distraction. Panny 700- the only way to go!

Lens shift allows you to move the projected image up and down and left and right without changing the angle of the projector itself. I think it is as important as zoom. A zoom lens allows you to place the projector APPROXIMATELY the correct distance from the screen, making the fine adjustment with the zoom. Similarly, lens shift allows you to place the projector in APPROXIMATELY the correct position left-to-right and vertically, making the fine adjustment with the lens shift. Topic:   Panny PT-AE700U Tweaks and Service Menu?

Hey All, I have read that some people are tweaking their 700U projectors using a flicker adjustment in the service menus. I don't yet own this projector but will in a few weeks. If it is anything like my Panny HDTV, there will be several adjustments required in the service menu that aren't available in the user menus. How do you enter the service menu? Anyone have first hand knowledge of the best settings? Thanks Guys.
