I hope im not jixing my self but i have 1650 hrs on my second lamp. The first one blew at 500 hours ! I hope mine goes to 3200 hrs! How much damage could the lamp do if it blows? Also i thought the LCD's only last under 10,000 hrs? on projectors?

Topic:   HD-DVD vs BLU-RAY

HD-DVD is dead. See Toshiba quits HD-DVD business.[http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080219/ap_on_hi_te/japan_toshiba;_ylt=ApEEN_2m2BGyXN8Qy67QCuUjtBAF]. I have been using my first generation PS3 Blu-Ray for over a year now. Never have any problem with it and the graphics are awesome. Could not play some of the games because they looked so real in my old Panny 700 that I get 'motion sickness'. All of my blu-ray dvd collections are awesome, both sounds and video. :p

Topic:   Not enough tech knowledge here to answer

Hi, I am hopeing somebody can answer my tech question for my Panasonic ae700u. The power is running to it but there is no fan noise and the bulb does not work. I am hoping I just need a new bulb but don't want to blow $400 on one then find the whole machine is kaput. It was working fine but last time we tuned it on the above happened. It tried to convert from a red light to a green but the fan made a little noise for 2-3 seconds and it cut back to a red light and silence( bulb light flashed on **one** time for a fraction of a second) I tried it 3-4 times total. Some of the time it shows an amber light. Machine is about 3 years old and has about 1500 hours on the bulb ( by the way does the machine have a way to call up how many hours there are on the bulb, or do all these guys who post their hours keep little log books?) HELP PLEASE!!

Topic:   Do all LCD projectors have this problem?

blue burn in on upper right corner is exactly the same as i am seeing....i replaced the bulb and then a couple hundred hours into the new bulb i started seeing this. from what i have seen on net, this appears to be mainly happening with panasonics...but haven't seen if there is any recall being done... will be contacting panasonic soon, but would like to know if this is a problem that panasonic is addressing.

Topic:   Do all LCD projectors have this problem?

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg256/m...oblemsae700.jpg I did a lot of research on projector central and other sites before I bought the AE700 and at $3000 I didn't expect it to be a disposable projector considering it was at the mid-high end of the range at the time. All the reviews like projector central mentioned the lamp life of maybe 2000-5000 hours so I think I've done pretty well at 3392 hours on first lamp. It's now noisy on startup and as you can see on image above the blue tinge is getting really annoying ( just started in the last week ) and the screen size is slowing becoming smaller From what I've read the blue tinge is nothing to do with the Lamp and I'll need a new optical block which would make it more economical to just buy a new projector. Do all LCD projectors have this problem with optical blocks degrading or is it just panasonic ones?
