Topic:   Best choice for high hour use

I have had my Pany AE700 for 6 yrs now and it is time to upgrade. I average 2000 hrs a year, so my family uses it a lot. Because of this I go through a lot of bulbs, I am on number 4(2500hrs) and I am getting +/-3000 hrs on each. I need LCD (due to lens shift) and I want 1080p. 3D would be nice, but not that important. The biggest deciding factor for me, is bulb life and replacement cost. I know bulb life can be a crap shoot, but replacement cost seems to be more stable. My current list is as follows: 1)Epson 3010 2)Panasonic AR100 3)Epson 8350 I have been lucky with my AE700 and would like my luck to continue. Any thoughts?

Topic:   Harmony remote with Panasonic AE700

I have a logtec harmony remote with a panasonic AE700 projector. All equipment is run through the audio reciever and the video is brought to the projector via 1 HDMI cable. The problem I have is that since the input selection button for the HDMI input on the projector cycles between PC input and Hdmi, when I switch from Cable TV to Bluray, the input switches to PC. At that point I need to enter more comands to switch the procjector back to HDMI. I have spent a lot of time on the logtec remote program and have never been able to fix the problem. The remote is designed for easy 1 button comands to switch sources, but because of my problam it takes mutible comands. If anyone has had this same problem let me know.

Topic:   Not too Picky

A few years back I bought a PT-AE700u and thought it was the best until my new wife found out house much it cost. Then I decided to take it back to the store. Since then I have been following the progression of technology in projectors. Now 7 years later I think my wife is now ready movie night at home. So the question is, what is comparable to the Panasonic from years ago without over spending ($1200 or less)? I have been partial to LCD but times are different now and are DLP better? Also I would love to get a LED light engine to save all the cost of bulbs burning out before it is obsolete. One more thing, is a WXGA conference projector (Casio XJ-A235U) as good as a home theater projector from years age (PT-AE700U)? Thanks in advance

Topic:   New bulb smell

My 3rd bulb had 4720 hrs on it ad it seemed very dim. I purchased a new bulb from pureland. It arived at my house today and I installed it. The picture looks 10x brighter but the projector is puting off a burning smell now. I don;t recall this on the prvious 3 bulbs I installed. I did clean the air filter and reset the lamp hour meter. Is this normal and will the smell go away? or is a sign of a bad bulb or problem with the projector?

Topic:   Replacement Bulbs ebay vs estore

My 3rd bulb in my Panasonic AE700 has 3500 hrs on it and seems to be getting dim. I want to replace it and am shoping for a good price for a NEW bulb. My first bulb died at 500 hrs, 2nd at 2200 hrs so I know not all bulbs seem equal. All my past bulbs I bought from Visual Apex but they are charging $370 each. I looked on ebay and found them from $180 to $230 for new with housing. Am I taking a big risk buying from ebay or would I be a fool to pay double at a well respected store.
