I am looking for a color wheel for a Dell 2300MP projector. Anybody know where I can get one. I'm pretty desperate.
I believe last time I posted sheridan mentioned he could get them. If you let me know, I'd be happy to purchase them from you if you know where to get them.
Thanks,

Ok so about less than a month ago a warning came up on my dell 2300mp projector that said "warning, lamp is now using reserve hours" which obviously meant it was time to change the bulb.
I came home to find my roommate fidgeting with the projector without my approval, telling me that "the projector wont turn on, and when you try to turn it on it just keeps making this "clicking" noise." I thought to myself, ok the bulb has finally died, lets get a new one.
Previously that week he used my laptop to surf the web and that too mysteriously crashed and I was forced to wipe the drive clean and start from scratch.
After ordering a new bulb, supposedly one that fits in 1800 and 2300mp's, and installing it myself with no problems, I freshened up my room and sat back, hoping to indulge in some PS3 as I turned the projector on.
Still, I get this clicking noise while all the lights on the arrow and menu keys remain lit, it continues to click and then breathes a bit, then the power button starts to flash and it clicks again, but this time in a different pattern of clicking, and just keeps repeating this process.
I'm almost positive that the only problem with the projector was the bulb, but now I'm beginning to wonder if it could be something else. I really hope not. I haven't cleaned the filter yet, and in the past, the projector was often being used for long increments of time and definitely probably getting hotter than it normally should.
I understand that this projector is ancient, but its worked flawlessly for so many years and I have never had a problem. Maybe I am forgetting some steps? Was I normally supposed to change the bulb before the original died?
Is there some sort of factory reset that's done by pressing and holding down certain buttons maybe?
Thanks to anyone who can help me, this projector really makes this entire apartment what it is.
I uploaded a video of the clicking noise onto youtube so you have a better idea of whats making me pull my hair out.

Where and how can I bye a sparepart to my Dell 2300MP (close to Denmark, Europe). It's a ventilator-thing (see picture). With a number: 23.885.19.020A5361393 on it. The service has ended and Dell have no such spareparts available. Can anybody help? |

Hi all,
I have had my Dell 2300MP for a couple of years now, and have always had it connected simply with a composite video cable. I bought it knowing it was HDTV ready, and now 2 years later I've gone and bought a component video cable but upon trying to connect it Ive noted there is no connection for component video cables (Blue,Green,Red).
I thought maybe I was taking crazy pills when I bought it, so I did a search and confirmed my memory of this projector being considered HDTV ready, here:
http://www.projectorcentral.com/Dell-2300MP.htm
Which clearly states that it has component video, and standard video. So maybe I am taking crazy pills, or maybe there is an HDTV connection possibility that I am unaware of. On the back of my projector, I have the following:
VGA In and VGA Out
USB Remote
S-Video
Video (composite)
Audio In
RS-232
The RS-232 is something I've never heard of before. Mine looks very similar to an S-video, but I ran a search and it basically told me RS-232 was a serial port
Anyways, sorry for the long post. Thanks for reading, any help would be great! |
