What ever the cause is this usually demonstrates a weak signal or a signal the unit cannot handle like trying to run a refresh rate and or resolution the projector cannot display from a PC. I believe this model has options within the projector menus for vga port to adjust synching when that port is in use. Or am I incorrect? for VGA a lengthy cable usually is not a problem. I run a 60 footer with no trouble. Of course be certain that the cable it's self is not damaged and connections are solid and tight at both ends.

Thanks Natja-ss-1334. The projector does have menus for setting RGB via the vga port to adjust synching when that port is in use - and that is part of the problem I think - the menu does not become available until that port is in use - I.e. I can not adjust any settings for RGB because the projector has not detected / or locked onto the RGB signals, so that option is not presented. Also, it seems the main menu is not available until a valid source is connected! |

I am trying to connect my Sky digital decoder to my Acer PD112 using RGB connections. The Acer documentation suggests you can do this via the VGA port using the VGA/RGB adaptor. The Sky decoder has SCART out so I am using a SCART/RGB adaptor. I then connect the RGB adaptors to each other via RGB Baluns with CAT-5 cable in between (about 75mtrs) as the decoder is in another room to the PD112. This should all work, however, the picture from the PD112 flickers and does not seem to synch.
Can the PD112 use just the three RGB signals and no synch? Does anyone know what I am doing wrong, or what I should be doing? At present I have the composite video connected from the sky decoder, but the picture is not all that great, this is why I want to use RGB instead. Please help? |
