Topic:   Looking for a used Optoma H31

I'm looking for a used Optoma H31 projector or equal with decent lamp life. I'm just starting our with my home theater. It will be a dedicated space down in the basement. Appoximately 16'-8" x 11'-0". I'm not looking at spending a whole lot of money right now. I will eventually upgrade to a better projector and a HD tuner. But right now I will just be watching DVD's. Any other suggestions will be appreciated.

Topic:   Help needed with a H77

I have just set up an Optoma H77 with a 106" screen. I have a fantastic picture when viewing HD television (BEV) but when trying a DVD the picture size is only about half of the screen (correct ratio) and poor quality. I have played with every format etc. setting I can find with no change. The manual that comes with the H77 is a waste of paper so no help from Optoma. Any ideas would be welcome Thanks in advance Oldman

Topic:   Anybody around Gurnee, ILLINOIS ???

I have a vaulted cieling room that was an addition on the house. 12' by 22'. The room entrance is a large arch at the front left of the room as looking at the viewing wall. Velvet curtains in burgundy cover this space. There are 2 closets on the viewing wall with an inset for a tv between them. There is a 10" horizontal top piece that runs the width of the room from which I hung my screen. The screen is a dalite model c (larger diameter for less wrinkles) and the material is HiPower (the narrow viewing angle high gain stuff). It is 58" high and 108" across making 119" diag plus masking. Viewing level center is about 5'. Lighting is controlled by custom fitted honeycomb blinds with mylar lining for 100% light blocking. These were purchased on sale for 1100 which included 3 full size windows and the 3 individual panels that make up a bay window. Due to some light leak with the shallow windows and the spacing of the curtains from the wall in the arched entryway. Daytime light in the southern facing room is just enough to read a newspaper or just below, depending on sunny or overcast. The room is near pitch at night with the curtains to the kitchen open. Private message me if you want my phone number and would like to come out and demo it, Ill fire up the arena scene from star wars 2 or something.

Why are you limiting yourself to those projectors? Have you checked out the H77? It's the best projector you can get for under 3K.
