I have pretty much the same thing. Owned it three years, just changed the lamp. Instead of one giant purple splotch, I have a general miasmal of slight purple splotches across the whole screen. Guess I should have bought that other warentee. Oh well. For all of that, it still works well and I'm happy with it. Is this common to LCD projectors in general, or is it something that has been fixed in the last few years. I say this as I am considering buying a new projector in about a year or so and I wanted to start gathering data.

I am upgrading all my media system into HD Ready / Full HD and just because i bougt my Hitachi PJTX100 wich works well as i expected when i link it with my Panasonic BlueRay DVD BD30, but before this i bougt a panasonic plasma TZ85 with HDMI, wich works also well as expected, but than i prepare my system to be connected simultaneosly with the BD30 BlueRay, and i bougt a Lindy splitter with one HDMY entry and two HDMI wayouts and a conversor HDMI/DVI-D for the hitachi and it doesn't work, it apears on the wall the message that there is no DVI signal . Begore this i tried a lot of solutions with the persons that selled me the hitachi and experts about and till this moment i didn't get nor answer nor solution for this problem. There has been a vender that proposed me that i must by another projector do you think this is honest ??? Please is there anybody that can help me ???
