Dear all, After 3 years of intense use, my Hitachi PJ TX 100 started to develop a purple circle, especialy visible on a white background. I thought it was my old lamp, but after changing the lamp today, the circle is still there. It is visible on about 50% of my screen, right in the middle. Does anyone know what I can do about it? Or is this normal for a projector this age? Thanks, Heimen.

Hi All, I had this Hitachi PJ TX100 for about 3.5 years now. I used it heavily and I'm now on my 3rd lamp already. This lamp is on about 1300 hrs now. Although the docs. says that lamps should last 2000 hrs, past experience indicates that they last typically from 1100 to 1800 hrs only. This last month, I notice a purplish/ blue discoloration at the left side of the screen. It appears to be getting worse. At times, it looks like it occupies almost half of the screen. Although the lamp is nearing the end of its life, I doubt if this is a lamp problem as I never had this before. The authorised service center does not want to give an estimated quote to get this fixed and wants $99 just to take a look at it. Any idea whats wrong ? I get the feeling its not worth sending for repair and that I'm better off looking at a new PJ once this lamp gives up. Pretty costly to run since I paid about $3000 to buy this plus 3 lamps ($400 each) for only 3.5 years of use. Thanks
