Need JUST the lamp for Proxima DP5800 projector. I have the housing. I don't want to pay the premium for the whole lamp. I got a lamp for the projector and re-plastered it and it goes off and on at regular intervals, makes like a buzzing sound. keeps repeating this process. its driving me crazy. what would cause this? i got a picture for like 2 seconds and then shuts off again. I took a video of it too if it will help. Did i get the wrong voltage? AC or DC? this is the power specs....
LAMP: Metal halide lamp 250W
POWER SUPPLY: AC100 ~ 120V, 5A / AC220 ~ 240V, 2A

The DP5800 has a motorized zoom lens.
Did you take the motorized lens out of teh case and take it apart?
If so, get help from an AV repair shop that has some old guys working there. They might remember how to put this back together again.
Or you may be better off to buy a new projector and start over.
Until LED models hit the market, these things are not designed to last forever.
I took off my three lens on my projector and i need to know what order they go back if i am looking at the front of the unit any help on this would be wonderful thank you
I have a Proxima 5800 projector with purple spots on the screen. I bought an extra bulb as I thought the bulb had burn spots on it that were transfering to the screen. That didnt fix it. Three questions (1) Does anyone know if it can be fixed? (2) if it can be fixed can I do it and if I can can someone let me know what to do. I am very mechanically inclined but dont want to tear it apart if I wont be able to put it back together. and (3) If I cant fix it, is there someone that can, or knows of someone that can?
Any help would be appreciated.
I have a projector with MAJOR dirt on one of the lenses. I have wiped the outer lens and the lens by the bulb with no change. Is there another lens I need to clean and if so how do I get to it?
Any help would be appreciated.
