I've had this projector since 2005 and use it for everything. I had to reset the auto off 3000 hour meter twice now.
What are some of the high hour times people have had with their bulbs? Is this 6000 hours really that rare?
I hear all this talk about lamps only lasting 1,000 hours etc., but I don't notice the lamp being dim. I'm pretty sure if I put a new bulb in there I'd notice it though. I have had other issues with the Projector, but they've fixed themselves over time.
I don't know, I'm at the point now where I need to buy a new bulb or a new projector. Found a place to get a new bulb for $230 shipped, but I'm hesitant to do it. New Projector is out right now since I'm currently unemployed. Oh well.
Happy New Year!!! |

Check out the color change in the pixels at the end of the white arrows. They appear vertically from top to bottom on occasion. Kind of hard to see here, but you should be able to make them out.
Any ideas of what this is? I don't want to get a new bulb if the projector is F'd.

I had a similar problem with my projector. It would be fine and bright for a while, then suddenly the image would almost die real fast and become dim. It would stay like that until the projector was turned off and had time to cool down for a while. This was caused by a dying bulb, a replacement completely solved the problem. |

I have a BenQ DLP projector. Whenever it's projecting a dark image, you can see these specks that are definitely dust or dirt. It looks similar to what you see when you shine a dirty flashlight against the wall. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a dust filter I can change or anything, is there an easy way to clean it (with a vacuum maybe?) or do I need to take the entire thing apart? BTW, it's not on the outside, I already tried cleaning the exterior. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. |

I have a BenQ PB6200 Projector and just recently purchased a Playstation 3. I would like to hook it up to the projector and get the highest definition possible out of it. I know the best way to do that is through component (since the projector doesn't have HDMI input). The only problem is that the back only has three plugs. S-Video, VGA, and the circly one for composite. When turned on it scrolls through Composite, VGA, S-Video, and Analog YPbPr. So obviously it supports component. I have read about some people using an adapter, is this the only way to do it? If so, what should the adapter go to, VGA, S-Video, or the circly one? Also, do you have any suggestions for what adapter I should get, maybe a link? Any help at all would be great, thanks in advance. |
