Topic:   Color Wheel help

My color wheel broke on my BenQ PB6100 and I being a total do-it-yourselfer repared it with a little help from super glue. I wasn't sure if it would hold, but so far it has. The only problem is that there is some light obscurity with the repaired segment and as a result the color is a little off and the picture is dimmer. I would like to replace the color wheel, but cannot find a source for the part. I spoke with BenQ and they said I could send it in for an out of warranty repair (yeah right like I would what to pay for that). I always figure if I can do it myself, I will. I have been watching e-bay for a broken projector for parts but the only one I have seen is for a MP620 and I am not sure if the color wheel would be compatible (or available). Is there anyone out there who can help me get the right part?

Topic:   benq 6100 projecting angle

Hi all, Since quite a few members here using Benq pb6100 I thought may be it's a good place asking the following question. When placed on a leveled table, front projection, the projected image is about 35 degree upward onto the screen. I always think image should project straight forward and if I want it upward I can extend the front feet for that. I just want to know if this is normal or something is wrong with my projector or that there are adjustment I can made. Pete

Topic:   Projector Blurry and Dim - Benq 6100

Hi all - I have a Benq 6100 with a little over 500 hours of lamp usage. This is the first lamp, and I bought the projector new. One night recently, the projector made some strange noises. Thereafter, the image has appeared softer and much dimmer than before. I called Benq and their tech support said to buy a new lamp. My concern is that it might not be the bulb, and that I'll be out another $280 or so with a broken projector. Is there any way to confirm whether or not it's the lamp for sure, or does anyone know of a lamp dealer that has a friendly return policy? This is my first post to this forum. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Topic:   Budget Living Room Conversion

This is day one of the home theater in the bigger room, formerly know as the "living room" that we never actually lived in since we were always in the cramped theater/computer room. The equipment is basic, the intent obvious: Big screen entertainment on a budget. The components won't make any best of lists, but we're pretty happy: Projector:BenQ PB6100 $800 2004 Receiver: Sony STR-D915 $300 2000?? DVD: Magnavox MWD 200F $50 2005 Speakers Front KLH for Center (part of a bundle that includes the now read speakers) $90?? Presidian Indoor/Outdoor for left/right (these get transplanted when we do outdoor flicks) $60?? KLH for back(receiver is so old it doesn't discriminate l/r rear signal) Add in cabling, the new wiring channel and miscellanea and I don't think we're much higher than $1500. I don't count the furniture because we had it to begin with. I hope you like this look into my home and theater!
