Hi
First post so go easy. I know its only a Optoma H30 and a Draper 100 widescreen , 16ft x 10 room ,but believe me i got it cheap and after never being into this game my first impressions are im very happy.
Testing so far off a table with a dvd player and xbox 360 in HD mode.
Couple of basic questions to get me going men
Coffee table or ceiling mount which has best image.
If i increase my optimum throw buy 2 feet to fill my screen will there be a vastly noticable decrease in quality. (blacked out room all the time while viewing)
Component or progresive scan, both seem good but component seems richer colours but darker then progresive.( is there any setting to alter when in progresive or is that how the film should look)
Lastly for now, i know its native 800x400 so when i play in widescreen for movies what do i actually lose in quality against a native widescreen animal.
I have read hundred's of posts to date but stuck on these...Thanks for a excellent forum nothing in the UK compares

Hi I'm not sure if this is right place for this post. I have a Optoma HD DLP Projector H-30. Was wondering what diffrence useing a hd dvd player will have on image quality with this projector or is the picture quality the same as a standard dvd player if I dont have a hd dvd disc playing? Or will a standard dvd play at hd in a hd dvd player?
thanks Red |

I have some serious problems with my H30.
After one minute maximum i get the "over temperature" displayed and the temp lamp is constant orange.
The projector then shuts down.
I have tried everything that is in my power.
Does anybody know what to do? |

I have had my H30 less than two years and am now in the process of it being sent for inspection/repair for the second time as the second bulb has failed again after less than 200 hours. The first time it was returned to the dealer saying nothing was wrong, but they updated the software.?? Now again the same problem. I watch only DVDs and only once or twice per week. I am expecting a similar reply this time, but feel another $400 investment in a new bulb would be better spent on a new projector.? Has anyone else experienced Optomo bulb problems and if so is there any recourse? Question 2, I have been very satisfied with the pictue quality of the H30, would I be happy with the Infocus 4805? |
