I have 22 X LV-7210. They used to cut out on me after an attempt by the fan to go into the high speed mode. A Canon engineer arrived and modified them by inserting a heat resistant shield into the path of the temperature sensors, there are three sensors in the unit. This fixed the problem. However, I have a different problem now. The Network control card connects onto the rear of the projector via the DVI-I connector. The DVI-I connector is on a sub board within the projector. This u board keeps blowing(it will still handle the DVI signal). Has anybody else expereinced this problem?
I have a Canon LV-7210. This projector recently crapped out on me. The problem with it is that I would turn it on and a few seconds later it would shut off, as it i had turned it off (meaning: it would go into the cooling procedure where the fan would spin faster). I bought a new lamp ($300+), following the advice of Canon themselves. But that did not fix the problem. I sent it in for repair and now they want to charge me $577 to fix it. I have two questions for you: a) Is this projector worth it? Meaning after adding the lamp plus the repair + shipping, I am coming up on $900+ (I bought the MIT-1000hd for less than that). b) Is there an alternative to Canon Repair? I live in North Jersey (Bergen County). Are there other repair centers that could service this at a fraction of the cost? Thanks in advance.
Topic:   Anyone familiar with Canon 7200 or 5200 series projectors?

Well, after lots of google and forum searching, along with some experimenting, I finally figured it out. With the projector on, hold down the power button for 15-20sec. and the total projector time and total lamp time will be displayed. Total lamp time is broken down into regular and econo modes. Also, since this projector (7210) is made by Sanyo, you can hold down the menu and input buttons together for about 15secs and the service menu will be displayed. I believe item 100 in the service menu also corresponds to total projector hours.

I just purchased a Canon LV-7210 and found that the menu does not contain a user accessible hour meter. Does anyone know if there is a service menu, etc. available?
