Topic:   trakers...can you help me please ?
I've never come across one. I was told a few years ago by a service tech that Infocus guards them as company proprietary to the extent that they won't sell them to interested customers (never mind allow their service people to e-mail or fax any part of them), and my experience has reinforced that claim. I've never seen as much as a sub-circuit diagram posted on the internet. All my knowledge of the workings of the LP730 has been through experimentation and component swapping from my parts pj's.
Then you could maybe help me with my problem. My LP730 has the following problem: the image shows a red and green ghost (the ghost images are both clear and sharp)
I don't believe InFocus disseminates service manuals at all; I suspect you're confusing this with the operator's manual. In my experience (trying to get a service manual for the LP730), they are very proprietary about their service manuals. If I were trying to fool the pj into thinking the lamp was present, I would concentrate on the immediate housing area that accepts the lamp. If you're certain there's an optical coupler, it should be visible in this area. Chances are it's seeing reflective tape or something on the lamp housing, so closely inspect that too. All it's concerned with is whether the lamp housing is physically inserted into the receptacle, so the sensor should be immediately adjacent to the lamp housing. So anything that's not obviously the power leads to the bulb itself is probably associated with the sensor you're looking for. The LP730 has a little surface mount resistor (and related connections) that blows as soon as the lamp is first powered on to automatically reset the lamp counter (you can always tell a virgin bulb 'cause this fuse is still intact). The only sensing device for that unit is a microswitch that senses whether the cover to the lamp assy area is closed; it doesn't actually sense lamp presence. Some images of the lamp housing and especially the receiving bay for the lamp assy might help.
I read here that you where looking for a service manual for the LP730 also. Have you found it jet? If so, could you be so kind to mail it to me at jvd2000@wanadoo.nl . I'm already searching for over 2 months.

Topic:   Sharpness adjustment on Infocus LP730

Now that I've replaced my Infocus LP730 on the theater ceiling mount with a new PT-AE900U, I plan to use the LP730 as a portable "slide projector" to project digital pictures when I visit relatives, etc. When I calibrated the PT-AE900U using the AVIA disk, I was a little surprised to learn the full effect of the sharpness adjustment (I had always thought of it only as a filter for noisy signals). This calibration made me realize that my LP730 is in desparate need of a reduction in the sharpness setting to eliminate the too-light edge around the sharp edges of high-contrast transitions (I'm not talking about the dreaded ghosting degradation these projectors are prone to here). The problem is that the adjustments accessible through the menu screen contain no sharpness control, and I haven't as yet found an internal trimmer for it. It seems inconceivable to me that this isn't adjustable (at least internally)! I know it's a longshot, but does anyone know if the LP7XX family of projectors has an internal trimmer for sharpness (or any other way of adjusting it)? They treat their service manuals as totally proprietary, so getting a hold of one of them doesn't seem like an option, and I'm not about to pay to have this thing serviced.
