They do have the color wheels in stock. Let me know if you are still interested.

Sheridan,
My NEC HT1000 color wheel went out/disintegrated last night. Is it possible to get a replacement part? How much? How long will it take? and how do I get one? EMAIL is jimbuczkow@aol.com
Thanks Sheridan. I've done some searching and I believe the correct part number is 12JS5552. The following site has a lot of parts lists, in this case for NEC projectors, but I'm sure they have parts for many others as well.

Another question - any advice on replacing the fans in one of these units? The fans are pretty cheap and I figure that I might as well do it "while I'm in there". I have about 6000 hours on the box, so I'm sure one will fail as soon as I get the new color wheel in and have the unit re-mounted on the ceiling.
I snooped around a bit once I got the old color wheel out and it doesn't look as simple as I'd hoped it would be - looks like the optics assemly has to come out in order to access the bottom fan screws... BTW, these was a lot of smutz on what was left of the color wheel.
Thanks again.
I'm in a similar boat with my HT1000 - the color wheel exploded tonight. Sheridan, if you're still out there, can you get a color wheel (or part number) for the HT1000? I'm pretty comfortable with doing the repair myself. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer.
My NEC HT 1000 just died on me, well sort of. I can get it to turn on, but shortly after it will flicker to bright and back to eco mode and so on an so forth then shut off. It started this about a year ago, but we had always been able to revive it by just rebooting it though sometimes it would take a couple of efforts. As of the other day it appears to be toast, since it only comes on for a brief few seconds and defaults into a shutdown mode almost immediately.
Any idea what the cause is? What it might take to repair it?
Thanks in advance.
Hi folks, sorry for the newbie/basic question... but:
I have an older 1080i HD projector (NEC HT100 DLP)...
So, should I set the Verizon FIOS HD set top box to 720p or 1080i?
does it matter? to the naked eye the image produced looks the same.
(Does the DLP 1080i HD projector alwasys scale it down to 720p?)
I guess the same question arises later this summer when I get a 1080p BenQ W5000 projector. What setting on the cable box is best for it? 1080i and let it scale up?
Thanks again for all your expert opinions on this great forum...
